Abstract:Objective: To investigate the effect of perioperative aspirin administration on the short-term efficacy and safety of transurethral prostate plasma enucleation in long-term aspirin users. Methods: According to the order of admission, 45 patients with prostatic hyperplasia who had been taking aspirin for a long time before surgery and had surgical indications were randomly divided into continuous administration (75 mg/d) group and perioperative discontinuation group (7 d) group. All the patients received transurethral prostate plasma enucleation. Prostate volume, maximum urine flow rate, residual urine volume, IPSS, QOL, operation time, intraoperative and postoperative blood loss, bladder irrigation time, postoperative indwelling catheter time, discharge time and complications in the two groups were compared. Finally, 3 patients were withdrawn from the study, there were 20 cases in the aspirin group, and 22 in the aspirin discontinuation group 7 days before surgery. Results: There was no significant difference in prostate volume, maximum urinary flow rate before and 3 months postoperation, residual urine volume, IPSS, QOL, operation time, 48-h re-operative bleeding and postoperative blood transfusion rate, incidence of temporary incontinence, intraoperative blood loss, postoperative urethral catheter time, discharge time between two groups (P > 0.05). No true urinary incontinence and other serious complications occurred in two groups. There were statistically significant differences in postoperative blood loss and postoperative bladder irrigation time between the two groups (P < 0.05). Conclusion: Although perioperative aspirin administration may increase the risk of postoperative bleeding and prolong bladder irrigation time of TUERP, it does not increase the incidence of complications such as hemostasis, blood transfusion rate and urinary incontinence in the second operation, and has no effect on the short-term postoperative efficacy.
