Abstract:Objective:To explore the method and clinical efficacy of plasmakinetic resection of the prostate (PKRP) in treating benigh prostatic hyperplasia (BPH). Methods:A total of 53 cases of BPH were treated with PKRP at our institution and the clinical data were retrospectively analyzed. Results:All operations were successfully carried out. There were no transfusion and rectal injury cases. Four patients, suffering from mild incontinence postoperatively, recovered 1 week to 1 month later. After 1 to 6 month follow up, many parameters such as IPSS, QOL, Qmax and residual urine volume were improved significantly as compared with those preoperation. Conclusions: In view of the high safety, less complications and exact treatment efficacy of PKRP, it deserves clinical application in the treatment of BPH.
