Abstract:Objective: To explore the application effect of simulation training mode in the teaching of flexible ureteroscope holmium laser lithotripsy. Methods: From January to December 2021, 32 postgraduates with professional degree in Department of Urology from the First Medical Center of the General Hospital were randomly divided into control group and study group, with 16 cases in each group. The control group received training in the traditional teaching mode, while the study group received simulation surgery training with different contents at the 1st, 2nd and 3rd months of the teaching stage. The operation time, the number of cases of tissue injury, the rate of stone removal and the score of flexible ureteroscopy were compared between the two groups. Results: No tissue injury occurred in both groups, and the rate of stone removal was 100%. Compared with the control group, the operation time in the study group was significantly shortened [(36.8±6.8) min vs. (47.2±9.6)min](P<0.05). There was no significant difference between the two groups in operative fluency and urinary tract mucosal injury score (P>0.05). Compared with the control group, the study group had higher score of motor proficiency [(4.9±0.2)vs. (4.5±0.5)], visual field stability [(5.0±0.1)vs.(4.4±0.5)], and stone localization velocity [(5.0±0.1)vs. (4.8±0.4)], with statistically significant differences (P<0.05). Conclusion: The teaching effect of simulation training is obviously better than that of traditional teaching mode, which can obviously improve the students’ proficiency in flexible ureteroscopy and the degree of visual field stability.
