Abstract:Objective:To explore methods of renal pedicle vascular treatment under retroperitoneal laparoscopic nephrectomy in giant hydronephrosis. Methods:A retrospective analysis of 16 cases of retroperitoneal laparoscopic nephrectomy in giant hydronephrosis. The surgical method of free kidney ahead of renal pedicle vascular treatment was applied. The renal pedicle vessels were handled with Hem-o-lok ligation lock. Results:All operations were performed successfully. One case was converted to open surgery because the kidney was damaged by the puncture while establishing the working channel, among all the other cases the kidneys were freed and the renal pedicle blood vessels were treated successfully. There were no vascular complications occurred. The operation time was 70 -180 min and the average is 110 min. The estimate blood loss was 20-80 ml and the average is 50mL; Drainage tube in the peritoneum was disconnected 2-3 days after surgery and the postoperative hospital stay was 5-8 days. Conclusions:Renal pedicle vascular treatment under retroperitoneal laparoscopic nephrectomy in giant hydronephrosis is safe, effective and worth spreading.
