The differences and significance of histological prostatitis in different zone of prostate

Abstract：Objective:To investigate the differences and significance of histological prostatitis in different zone of prostate. Methods:Two groups of subjects were included. The tissues of 59 patients with periphery zone in prostate were obtained by needle biopsy(periphery group). The tissue of 61 patients with centrel and transition zone in prostate were obtain by PKEP(centrel group). The occurrences of histologic prostatitis were checked by conventional pathological methods. The occurrence differences of histological prostatitis was evaluated between periphery zone and centrel zone in prostate. The occurrence differences of histological prostatitis was also evaluated between BPH and PCa. Results:The occurrences frequency of histologic prostatitis in periphery group and centrel group were 42%(25/59)and 25%(15/61) respectively. The difference has statistical significance (P＜0.05). The frequency of histologic prostatitis in BPH and PCa were 59%(17/29)and 25%(23/91). The difference has statistical significance (P＜0.01). Conclusions:There are difference in occurrences of histological prostatitis in periphery zone and centrel zone of prostate. There are difference in occurrences of histological prostatitis in BPH and PCa.
