Abstract：Objective:To evaluate R.E.N.A.L. nephrometry score for retroperitoneal laparoscopic partial nephrectomy.Methods:Between January 2007 and June 2011,29 cases of T1a stage renal tumor were reviewed for the clinical data. Each case was assessed with R.E.N.A.L. nephrometry score by the same investigator, and suggestions of improvement were advanced to R.E.N.A.L. nephrometry score. The difference of application value between advanced score and non-advanced score was compared.Results:Twenty-nine cases were divided into 7 high-score cases(A group),10 moderate-score cases(B group) and 12 low-score cases(C group) by the R.E.N.A.L. nephrometry score.Significant differences were seen in warm ischemia time(P＜0.01) but no significant differences were seen in operating time, estimated blood loss and length of stay between groups(P>0.05). 29 cases were reassigned into 9 high-score cases(E group),10 moderate-score cases(F group) and 10 low-score cases(G group) by the modified R.E.N.A.L. nephrometry score. Significant differences were seen not only in warm ischemia time(P＜0.01),but also in operating time, estimated blood loss and length of stay between groups(P＜0.01).Conclusions:The R.E.N.A.L. nephrometry score can produce an acceptable assessment for retroperitoneal laparoscopic partial nephrectomy,whereas the modified R.E.N.A.L. nephrometry score is discriminative power and closer than the primitive one.
