Abstract:Objective:To evaluate the clinical value of retroperitoneal laparoscopic ureterolithotomy in the treatment of upper ureteral calculus. Methods:The clinical data of 116 cases of upper ureteral calculus treated with retroperitoneal laparoscopic ureterolithotomy in our hospital from January 2008 to January 2014 were analysed retrospectively. Results:Retroperitoneal laparoscopic ureterolithotomy was performed successfully on 115 patients, and only one patient was conversed to the open operation. The average operation time was (76.3±28.5) min, the mean blood loss during operation was (35.4±16.8) mL, the drainage tube placement time was (5.7±1.1) days, and the postoperative hospital stay was (6.5±1.3) days. The follow-up time after operation was 1-70 months. The hydronephrosis in all patients was alleviated to varying degrees and no serious complications occurred. Conclusions:The clinical value of retroperitoneal laparoscopic ureterolithotomy in the treatment of upper ureteral calculus is significant, with advantages of small wound, rapid recovery, less complications, higher safety and reliability. It is recommended to practise in primary level hospitals.
