Abstract:Objective: To compare the clinical efficacy of en bloc transurethral resection with thulium laser (Thulium laser) vs. plasmakinetic resection of bladder cancer (PKRBT) in the treatment of non-muscle invasive bladder tumor. Methods: A total of 93 non-muscle invasive bladder tumor patients treated in our hospital during July 2015 and June 2017 were enrolled, including 48 patients undergoing Thulium laser (observation group) and 45 patients undergoing PKRBT (control group). The operation time, postoperative hemoglobin decline, intraoperative obturator nerve reflex and bladder perforation, postoperative indwelling catheter time, postoperative hospital stay and postoperative bladder tumor recurrence rate were analyzed retrospectively. Results: The average operation time, the incidence of intraoperative bladder perforation, the changes of hemoglobin before and after surgery, and the recurrence rate of postoperative bladder tumors between the two groups showed no statistically significant difference (P>0.05). Postoperative indwelling catheter time and postoperative hospital stay were significantly shorter, and the incidence of obturator reflex was significantly lower in the observation group than in the control group (P<0.05). Conclusions: The en bloc transurethral resection with thulium laser is safe and feasible, and it can reduce or avoid the obturator nerve reflex and is worthy of clinical application.
