Abstract：Objective:To evaluate the clinical efficacy of percutaneous balloon dilatation combined with endopyelotomy in the minimally invasive treatment of ureteropelvic junction obstruction (UPJO).Methods:Between March 2010 and March 2012, 17 patients of UPJO had undergone percutaneous balloon dilatation combined with endopyelotomy. Clinical data and follow-up data were analyzed retrospectively.Results:Seven patients obstruction were on the left and ten were on the right. Among the patients, there were 12 primary UPJO which 7 combined with renal calculus, 2 had undergone PCN, 1 had undergone ureterolithotomy, 1 had undergone pyeloplasty and 1 had undergone laparoscopic pyeloplasty. The length of stricture of all patients was less than 2 cm. All operations were performed successfully and no serious complication happened. 17 patients were followed-up from 7 to 31 months and the curative effect was satisfactory.Conclusions:Percutaneous balloon dilatation combined with endopyelotomy is safe and effective for treatment of UPJO, which can be used as the initial treatment selectively.
