Clinical application of contrast-enhanced ultrasound in diagnosis of ureteral tumor

Abstract：Objective: To study the diagnostic value of contrast-enhanced ultrasonography (CEUS) in ureteral tumors. Methods: We retrospectively analyzed the histological diagnosis and the ultrasonogram of conventional ultrasound and CEUS in 25 patients with ureteral tumor, to evaluate the diagnostic accuracy of CEUS. Results: Two patients had a final diagnosis of ureteral benign tumor, and 23 patients had the diagnosis of ureter urothelial cell carcinoma. The diagnostic accuracy of the conventional ultrasound and CEUS was 68% (17/25) and 92% (23/25), respectively. Conclusions: As a new technique, CEUS has a good application in the diagnosis of ureteral tumors, and it can improve the clinical diagnostic accuracy of ureteral tumor.
