Abstract:Objective: To investigate the clinical efficacy of percutaneous nephrolithotomy for the treatment of upper urinary tract calculi by the B ultrasound and X-ray localization. Methods: The clinical data of 300 cases of upper urinary calculi in Department of Urology of our hospital from 2010 February to 2013 December were retrospectively analyzed. The patients were divided into X-ray positioning group (164 cases) and B ultrasound positioning group (146 cases) according to the positioning modes. Some perioperative data were compared. Results: The puncture time (10.3±4.2 min) and operation time (103.5±27.5 min) were shortened, the amount of hemorrhage in puncture (45.8±9.8 mL), intraoperative blood loss (96.7±34.8 mL) and puncture times (1.72±0.84) were reduced in X-ray positioning group as compared with B ultrasound positioning group (P<0.05 for all). There was no significant difference in the hospital stay between two groups (P>0.05). The postoperative infection rate (8.54%), postoperative bleeding rate (3.66%), and organ injury after operation (0%) in X-ray positioning group were not significantly different from those in B ultrasound positioning group(P>0.05). The rate of residual stones in the X-ray positioning group (7.93%) was significantly lower than in the B ultrasound positioning group (15.07%). Conclusions: The X-ray guided percutaneous nephrolithotomy for treatment of upper urinary tract calculi has shorter time, less bleeding and lower postoperative residual stones rate, etc, which is worthy of clinical application.
