Abstract:Objective: To compare the therapeutic effects of combined flexible ureteroscopic lithotripsy and minimally invasive percutaneous nephrolithotripsy for upper urinary calculi. Methods: 136 patients with upper urinary calculi diagnosed and treated in our hospital from July 2016 to October 2018 were randomly divided into two groups: observation group and control group, with 68 cases in each group. The observation group was treated with combined flexible ureteroscopic lithotripsy plus holmium laser lithotripsy, and the control group was treated with minimally invasive percutaneous nephrolithotripsy combined with holmium laser lithotripsy. The operation time, intraoperative bleeding volume, hospitalization time, success rate of primary lithotripsy, stone clearance rate and the incidences of complications such as high fever, hematuria and infection after operation were compared between the two groups. Results: The operation time was significantly longer, the amount of bleeding during operation was significantly less, and the hospitalization time was significantly shorter in the observation group than in the control group (all P < 0.05). There was no significant difference in the success rate of primary lithotripsy and the stone clearance rate between the observation group and the control group (P > 0.05). The incidence of postoperative complications in the observation group was significantly lower than that in the control group (P < 0.05). Conclusion: Combined flexible ureteroscopic lithotripsy and minimally invasive percutaneous nephrolithotripsy are both effective methods for the treatment of upper urinary calculi, but combined flexible ureteroscopic lithotripsy is safer and more conducive to rapid recovery after surgery.
