Abstract：Objective:To investigate the feasibility and safety of retroperitoneal laparoscopic single-site surgery (LESS) for ureterolithotomy by using a self-made port. Methods:We analyzed the clinical data and followed up results of 23 patients with upper ureteral calculi underwent LESS ureterolithotomy by using a self-made port in our urology center from June 2011 to November 2013. Results:23 cases of surgery were successfully completed without conversion to open or standard laparoscopic surgery. The average longitudinal diameter of the calculous was (17.0±2.4) mm. The mean operative time was (112.8±21.6) min. The mean estimated blood loss was (34.3±11.3) mL. No major complication was occurred during surgery. The post-operative pain score (VAPS ) in the first post-operative day was (0.5±2.4), none of the patients received analgesic. The mean post-operative hospital stay was (4.4±0.6) days . Two cases had urine leakage in the first three days after the operation. All cases were followed up and followed up rate was 100%. There was no recurrent stone and ureteric stricture. Conclusions:It is a safe and effective treatment for ureteral calculi with Retroperitoneal laparoendoscopic single-site surgery for ureterolithotomy by using self-made port. There are keys, such as definite diagnoses, good understanding of retroperitoneal anatomy, technical proficiency in surgery, improved self-made single-site laparoscope apparatus, and good care of complications,to successful operation.
