Abstract:Objective: To investigate the differences in clinical effects vs. safety of ureteral lithotripsy and conservative therapy of internal medicine in the treatment of ureteral calculi in pregnancy. Methods: 150 patients with ureteral calculi in pregnancy were chosen in the period from January 2013 to December 2014 in our hospital and randomly divided into two groups: control group (n=75) with conservative therapy of internal medicine, and observation group (n=75) given ureteral lithotripsy treatment. The clinical efficacy, recurrence rate of renal colic and pregnancy outcome were compared. Results: The clinical efficacy of observation group was significantly better than that of control group (P<0.05). The recurrence rate of renal colic in observation group was significantly lower than in control group (P<0.05). The pregnancy outcome of observation group was significantly better than that in control group (P<0.05). Conclusions: Compared with conservative therapy of internal medicine, ureteral lithotripsy in the treatment of ureteral calculi in pregnancy can efficiently increase the removal effect of ureteral calculi, reduce the risk of renal colic recurrence and be helpful to improve the outcome of pregnancy.
