Abstract:Objective: To improve the understanding, diagnosis and treatment of retroperitoneal cysticspace-occupying lesions. Methods: Three patients with retroperitoneal cysts undergoing surgery in University Naval General Hospital of PLA were analyzed, and the diagnosis and treatment were investigate by relevant literature. Results: Of 3 cases, 1 was diagnosed as kidneycyst, and 2 as retroperitoneal cyst preoperatively. Two cases were given laparoscopic cyst unroofing decompression, and 1 case was subjected to open surgery to decompression. Pathologically, pancreatic cyst, lymphangioma cyst, and adrenal cyst were confirmed. During a postoperative follow-up period of 6 months to 2 years, there was no recurrence. Conclusions: Retroperitoneal cysts mostly are benign, and early clinical symptom is not obvious. Ultrasound examination can be easily used to early diagnose the retroperitoneal cysts. CT and MRI examinations are more advantageous to clear origin and nature of cysts.
