Abstract：Objective:To evaluate the efficacy and safety of flexible ureteroscope with Holium laser simultaneously in the treatment of kidney stones with psilateral peripelvic cyst. Methods:The clinical data of 39 cases of kidney stones with psilateral peripelvic cyst treated with surgery from Mar. 2011 to Dec. 2015 were analyzed retrospectively. All cases were divided into two groups: group A (n=20) given flexible ureteroscope with Holium laser simultaneously, and group B (n=19) given staged treatment by flexible ureteroscope with Holium laser and retroperitoneal laparoscopic unroofing. The operative time, incidence of cyst recurrence, incidence of complications, postoperative hospital days and total hospital costs were compared between two groups. Results:All operations were successfully performed. The operative time and postoperative hospital days in groups A were significantly shorter than those in group B (P<0.05). Total hospital costs in groups A were significantly less than those in group B (P<0.05). There were no significant differences in incidence of cyst recurrence and incidence of complications between the two groups (P>0.05). Conclusions:The simultaneous treatment of flexible ureteroscope with holmium laser for kidney stones with psilateral peripelvic cyst has the advantages of minimal invasion, safety and effectiveness. The long-term curative effect needs further observation.
