Abstract：Objective: To explore the optimal timing of demolition of postoperative hypospadias dressings. Methods: From September 2008 to February 2014, a total of 80 cases of hypospadias were randomly divided into 2 groups: group A (2 days, n=40) dressing for 2 days, and group B (5 days,n=40) dressing for 5 days, using the same materials, and bandaging method for dressing. The incidence of postoperative complications in the two groups was retrospectively analyzed. Statistical significance was considered at P<0.05. Results: The postoperative urethral fistula incidence in group A and group B was 27.5% (11 cases) and 65% (26 cases) respectively, with the difference being statistically significant (P＜0.05). Bleeding occurred in 6 cases in group A, and 2 cases in group B (P>0.05). Conclusions: Postoperative hypospadias dressings should be removed early, which can reduce the incidence of urethral fistula.
