Abstract:Objective:To explore the clinical efficacy of stone blocking catheter combined with ureteroscopy lithotripsy in the treatment of upper ureteral calculi. Methods:Sixty patients with the upper ureteral stones were treated from Jan. 2013 to Dec. 2013, and randomly divided into two groups (stone catheter block combined with ureteroscopy lithotripsy or percutaneous nephrolithotripsy). The data of average operation time, blood loss, intraoperative ureteral avulsion, postoperative analgesic use, postoperative complications and hospital stay, medical expenses and other indicators were compared. Results:The differences were statistically significant in the average operation time, intraoperative blood loss, postoperative analgesic use, stone residues, hospital stay and medical expenses between two groups (P<0.05). Conclusions:Stone blocking catheter combined with ureteroscopy lithotripsy is safe and effective in the treatment of upper ureteral stones.
