Abstract:Laparoscopic partial nephrectomy has been the golden standard treatment for renal tumor less than T1. Hypothermia can be used in the procedure when dealing with complex renal mass. Retrograde hypothermia, ice slush and renal artery perfusion are three different methods to produce hypothermia and all can achieve cold ischemia, while the third seems to protect kidney better. However, the optimal temperature and safe time limit of renal cold ischemia remain controversial and more evidence is needed to evaluate the protective effect of the hypothermia methods above.
