Abstract：Objective:To investigate the prevention of urethra injury by using preoperative catheterization while transrectal prostate biopsy.Methods:60 patients undergo ultrasound guided transrectal prostate biopsy, while 30 have preoperative catheterization, others have no. We record the incidence of hematuria which can reflect the happen of urethra injury.Results:The incidence of hematuria is 23% in group of preoperative catheterization, and 62% in group without catheterization.Conclusions:Preoperative catheterization can prevent injury of urethra while doing transrectal prostate biopsy.
