Abstract：Objective: To ivaluate the efficacy and safety of holmium laser lithotripsy (HL) and pneumatic lithotripsy (PL) in the treatment of ureteral calculi in pregnancy. Methods: Seventy-eight cases of ureteral calculi treated with ureteral calculi lithotripsy were retrospectively analyzed, including 41 cases of HL, and 37 cases of PL. Results: The HL group was superior to that of PL in the time of lithotripsy and the stone removal rate (P0.01), but there were no significant differences in the average length of hospital stay and the incidence of complications after operation between HL group and PL group (P＞0.05). Conclusions: Both HL and PL are relatively safe methods for ureteral calculi in pregnancy. However, HL is more effective and can be used as the first choice.
