The comparative analysis for the efficacy of the therapeutic effect of Plasma kinetic enucleation of prostate and Plasma kinetic resection of the prostate

Abstract：Objective:To compare the therapeutic effect of Plasma kinetic resection of the prostate(PKEP) and Plasma kinetic enucleation of prostate (PKRP)in curing benign prostate hyperplasia(BPH).Methods:The 528 patients with BPH who underwent PKRP(374) and PKEP(158) between May 2007 and December 2012 were analyzed retrospectively. Compare and analyze the difference of bladder douche time, urethral catheter detaining time, the incidence of bladder spasm,mean hospitalization time,the main complication,and the change of PVR,Qmax,IPSS,QOL in postoperative patient between two groups.Results:There were significant differences of bladder douche time, urethral catheter detaining time, the incidence of bladder spasm,mean hospitalization time,the main complication between PKRP group and PKEP group;compare to the preoperative examinations,the PVR, Qmax,IPSS,QOL have been greatly improved and appear significant differences(P＜0.05);and there is no significant difference between the two operation groups.(P＞0.05).Conclusions:In the two PKRP group and PKEP group,they have the similar efficacy, however, the PKEP group has the advantage of less complications and faster postoperative recovery,which is great safety, and high efficacy and ideal treatment in benign prostate hyperplasia.
