Abstract:Objective:To investigate the impact of inferior vena cava variation and Budd-Chiari syndrome on the surgical treatment of renal cancer. Methods:The clinical data of one patient with right kidney cancer with inferior vena cava variation and Budd-Chiari syndrome were reported, and related literatures were reviewed. Results:The patient who complained "scrotal edema" and showed imaging findings of the right renal mass, was revealed as Budd-Chiari syndrome with inferior vena cava malformation. The patient underwent retroperitoneal laparoscopic radical nephrectomy. Postoperatively, the definite diagnosis of renal clear cell carcinoma was made pathologically. Conclusions:The inferior vena cava is an important anatomical sign of laparoscopic surgery for right retroperitoneal lesions. Detailed preoperative physical and imaging examinations are of great clinical significance for the operation. Inferior vena cava angiography plays an important role in the diagnosis and surgical strategy of inferior vena cava variation.
